First post of the New Year! We had a great Christmas. My brother and sister and their children all came from Texas for a week of fun. Janet's brother and his girlfriend were also here from San Diego. We skied, boarded, sledded, ate and generally had a grand old time. It was extra special having them all in our new home. Yes, we did get the beautiful log home in the mountains!
It was a crazy December to remember. The short sale went through and we closed on the log home on the 3rd and started moving things in that week. Thanks to all the hard work of Janet and her family here in Idaho, we were able to get moved in and the house was ready for the Christmas week. The move wasn't without excitement though.
A few days after closing, a pipe broke while we were in between trips from Weiser to Donnelly and flooded the place. A crew of about 20 people came in and gutted the downstairs and replaced the ceilings and insulation. Thankfully we didn't have a lot of stuff downstairs yet so we didn't lose any personal belongings. Hopefully we will get it all fixed here soon.
We are about "dug out" from a 3.5 foot snow fall we had last week. That was a lot of snow! Thankfully uncle Terry has a large tractor with a front end loader. He was able to dig us out. I'm a little sore from all the snow shoveling. It's a lot of work being a mountain man! I am happy to be the proud owner now of a new, large snow blower and a new 4WD pick up. You learn real quick up here that the elements can be quite unforgiving for those not prepared!
For any of you interested in our new address just send me a message from the "send a message" box at the top of the blog and I will forward that to you. Happy New Year!
