Update #1
Mom did well during her surgery yesterday. She is recovering in the neuro ICU at Harris. She had quite a headache last night but they were able to get the pain under control and she woke up this morning feeling much better. She is alert and talking and remembers us now. I'm not sure if she knew me last night. She was convinced we had hijacked her and we were holding her hostage! I guess we were in a way, for her own good though. They didn't have to shave her head so when she saw herself with hair this morning she was pretty happy. We don't know what type of cancer cells were growing. The doctor says it is a glioma though. The official pathology results will come back in a few days. The neurosurgeon placed some chemo-therapy discs in place after the tumor removal and we will likely have to undergo some radiation after she recovers a little bit more. She is moving her left leg now and has really good strength to it. I think she is doing great all things considered. She was asking about Austin this morning and talking about his "cute little button nose". I was able to pull up a live view of Austin sleeping in his crib for her to see. It brought a smile to her face and to mine as well. I'll keep you posted with more details later. Eric

Prayers Needed
I would love for any and all to keep my mom, Judy Robinson, in your prayers. We found out last week that she has a brain tumor and is going to have surgery on Monday to get it removed. She began having seizures about two weeks ago and during the work-up was found to have a 3cm tumor in the right parietal lobe of the brain. She is beginning to have significant difficulties controlling her left leg. Walking is getting more difficult by the day. Janet and I were in Texas over Christmas and I am still here. I take her to Harris Methodist Hospital in Ft. Worth tomorrow. Surgery is scheduled for 1pm. We don't know yet what type of tumor it is but there aren't any good brain tumors. I will try and keep everyone posted on how she is doing. I wish I had something better to write about. Thank you for your prayers. Eric

Family Photo Day
We decided to get some professional pictures made a few weeks ago. We think our handsome little man did a great job. I found the outfit I wore for my 9 month old pictures so we took a few shots with Austin wearing it. Pretty cool.

Eric (Or, It could be Brady? Not real sure but I think it's me)

Austin

Who is that handsome man?

Can you say "mischievous"!

My New Blog
In order to keep The JanEric Blog full of fun pictures and the daily happenings in our home, (and to keep Janet free of unwanted scrutiny from the government), I've started an additional blog to share my thoughts on guns, America, politics, religion, etcetera.
Now, I might still share a view viewpoints in this here "family blog" but I'll try to keep the political rants and raves to a minimum. I know you all don't agree with me on the everything and that's good! We need healthy "scisms" in order to show who is right in the end!
So, if you're brave and can stomach some "good-old-boy-conservative-talk" then come join me at:

Back in NC
We had a great time in San Diego with Janet's parents and brother. It was a nice trip. We got back late last night and Austin is still a little "jet-lagged". He cried quite a bit last night. I guess he misses grandma and grandpa?
Here are some pictures from the rest of the trip.

We made it over to Coronado Island and toured the Navy base. We weren't able to get on the carriers but we did get to see the massive ships from the dock. We met up with some Navy friends who used to be at Camp Lejeune who are now stationed in San Diego. It's always great seeing old friends.
Three more weeks and we will head to Texas for Christmas. I haven't put out any Christmas items yet. With Austin grabbing and pulling stuff down I'm not sure I want to put any more stuff out! We'll see!
