Long Time No Post!

Sorry for the major delay in updating the blog. I know you all must be wondering where we went. Well, let us give you the Cliff Notes to get you all caught up. We felt the need to go to Texas to let the family see us ( I mean Austin). All we can say is "listen to the little voice inside you!" We got to Texas on the 11th and visited with all of Eric's family. On Sunday, the 12th, Eric's grandmother wasn't feeling well and "the doctors" (Eric and Janet) checked her out. Low and behold she was manifesting signs of atrial fibrillation and congestive heart failure, which she has never had. So, at our insistence, we convinced her to let Eric take her to the ER. Indeed, she was in afib and CHF and spent the next 5 days in the hospital. She's doing much better now. We were very thankful we went to Texas! Eric stayed for another week and Janet flew back to North Carolina on the 14th.

Janet's mother had her arm twisted to fly down and spend the week with Janet and Austin while Eric was in Texas. They gave Jarah the week off and Elsie had the tough job of taking care of her grandson for the week. Just a guess, but I think she had a good time! Elsie flew back to Idaho on the 25th. The next trip grandpa has to come too!

Austin is growing fast. He is chowing on the baby food and gaining weight but he's still a lean, mean, baby machine. He's learning to "creep" a little and is flip flopping like a democrat politician. We are laughing everyday at all his new little antics and activities. He is developing quite the personality. Hopefully you can tell by the pics and videos. I'll try not to wait as long before the next post.

An Afternoon in the Shade

Well, I went out and got one of those canopy tents with a mosquito net on it so we could enjoy the outside. There are so many mosquitoes outside that you can barely/rarely make it from the car to the house without getting bites. We can now sit outside and enjoy the nice, fall weather. Austin loves being outside too. He can be fussy beyond belief but as soon as you take him outside he becomes calm and engrossed with the outdoor sights, sounds and smells.

Did you know we have bears on base? I had heard the rumors but was skeptical. Bears on the coast? What? Well, Janet and Austin were riding bikes a few weeks ago and she rode right up on a bear! The bear dissappeared back into the woods and Janet peddled a little harder to safety. Pretty crazy and cool.

Did you know too that we are not allowed to put a campaign sign in our yard on base? I was shocked to find out that it is "illegal" to show partisanship as an active duty military person living on base. You can put a bumper sticker on your car but that's it. It's also illegal for an active duty officer to publish partisan, political views. I didn't get that memo either. Opps! So, just so everyone knows, Eric Robinson has published all of the political comments here, not Lt. Janet Robinson. She remains faithful and commited to her commanders and the Commander In Chief and will do so after November 4th, regardless who wins.
