Toothbrushes, Cereal and Just Having Fun!

I guess Janet is trying to get Austin familiar with the toothbrush. One of the pictures looks like he is the Ninja toothbrush warrior.

As you can see, Austin is eating cereal now. Rice cereal seems to be his favorite. Getting himself and Dad covered in the stuff is his favorite activity!

Six Years Today

So today was our 6 year anniversary. We had a wonderful dinner last night and enjoyed some baby free time while Jarah watched Austin. I am so blessed to have Janet by my side. Doesn't she just keep getting prettier! I sure think so! Thanks Janet for putting up with me for the last 6 years!

All Quite after the storm

So the power went out and there were some heavy winds but nothing major. The neighbor lost a tree. Just a lot of branches in our yard. Cameras are still on so you can still check out the yard. I'm trying to hook up some IR lights so you can see all the deer and foxes that come out at night. Jarah is watching Austin tonight as we go out for our anniversary dinner. 6 years tomorrow.

Rolling Over. For Real!

So he really is rolling over now. Look and see! He just started going front to back and back to front on a regular basis today. Fun!

Headed Back Home

So we had to cut the trip a little short. As much as I wanted to stay and watch a hurricane, I really didn't want to be locked down on the island. They placed a curfew in Onslow County and Camp Lejeune so I came back before getting stuck off base. Here is a video of right before I left.

Hanna Update 1

Since we are literally on the beach, I will try and send frequent videos and updates of the weather. All is well now and no mandatory evacuations have been ordered yet. We will be sure and heed the warnings and notices if they come, but until then I am going to play news reporter and update the blog with pictures and videos of the coming storm. Hopefully nothing will happen until Sunday after we leave!

McCain-Palin to the Whitehouse!

So, I stayed up late to watch the RNC's all star lineup tonight. They said everything they needed to say and showed some intestinal fortitude by going on the attack. Go conservatives! That's always been the problem with Republican conservatives. They are too nice to their opponents! Hopefully they will keep the attacks on the liberal socialists coming. They certainly don't hold back on us do they?

Sarah Palin! Man, she was awesome! She was smooth like butter yet sharp as a knife. What a great feeling not having to hold your breath and hope something stupid doesn't come out of a speaker's mouth. I'm sure I'm not the only one who always prays for Bush when he gets up to speak! I like Bush. He's just not the best communicator. Palin was the star of the show. A true natural with a gift for speaking. As one who has a great fear of public speaking, I can sure appreciate her confidence behind the lectern.

So what do the Republicans need to do to win? That's the big question. My opinion is this. They need to convince the voters that they are representing a change from the status quo and will bring the change that is needed in Washington. They can't be afraid to distance themselves from Bush. They must attack Obama and his shady relationships. Attack his celebrity status. Attack his indecisive and changing stances. Expose him as the poster child of extreme, liberal fascists here and abroad. Expose Obama's tax plan and how it will destroy our economy by literally taxing small and large companies out of business. Raising taxes in this economy! Are you insane! That's billions of dollars taken out of the economy and placed in the hands of the government. THAT'S CRAZY!

Palin must speak to the women and grab those votes. They also must convince those Democrats who are more moderate that they will represent their social concerns much better than an extreme liberal from Chicago. They need to hit the road and energize those small town voters, especially in the Mid-West. Let Palin talk in the small towns as she can relate to most of us small town people out there. Remind them as well how Obama talked down to small town Americans. Hispanic voters are oh so critical! McCain has a lot of appeal to the Hispanics. He really needs to start working the Hispanic vote hard or they are going to go with the "minority" guy.

Those are my opinions. Go to McCain's website, order your bumper stickers and yard signs and get into some political "fights" with the people around you and show them that conservatives have backbones and that we aren't afraid to speak our minds too!

Pre-Hanna Coastal Getaway!

So I had to take some time off and Janet made the most excellent suggestion. Let's go to the beach! After 0.1 secs of twisting my arm I reluctantly agreed to sit on the beach and relax for a week. We rented a condo in Emerald Isle, NC and are enjoying some sun and fun. Jarah came out yesterday and Mandi joined us as well. We went out to dinner last night which was fun. Austin began to get a little fussy so I had to throw him a bone. It worked, and we got to laugh!

(From left to right: Mandi, Jarah, Janet, Austin)
We may get a hurricane at the end of the week so we will probably head home a little early if the wind starts picking up. I don't fancy being right on the beach during a hurricane. We will post some pictures if it gets nasty but for now it's smooth sailing!
