The Cow Says..........

So what little kid doesn't like animal noises? I know one little boy that doesn't seem to like "the cow"! This is a must see. We were in tears laughing!

It's my blog so I can write what I want! So, on to politics! If you don't agree, well that's ok, hopefully you will keep reading and have an open mind.
Who else is excited about the VP choice for McCain? We sure are. I like her more than McCain! A true Washington outsider with small town values. I think Gov. Palin was a great choice. Now watch though as the Libs and the media attack her because she isn't from a big town or big state (actually, it is the biggest state, just not the most populated!). It's going to happen. Mark my words. We support her and think she will be great.

When did the politicians in this country forget about the people? It seems as if the fat cats sit up there and rule as if we serve them, not the other way around. This country would be far better off with a Congress and White House full of "real people" rather than multi-millionaire elitists with their own agendas. I'm not against millionaires. I wouldn't mind being one! Just remember Mr. and Mrs. elected official to give others an opportunity to make their million and keep it too! God help us if Barack Hussein Obama and his Marxist politics get into the White House.

"Obama cites as his economic guru Warren Buffett and quotes him as stating, "[Billionaires] have this idea that it's 'their money' and they deserve to keep every penny of it. What they don't factor in is all the public investment that lets us live the way we do." This is Marxist trash. "Capital is therefore not a personal, it is a social power," Marx wrote in "The Communist Manifesto." Viewing private property as social property is a mandate to tyranny. Yet that's precisely how Obama views private property: Obama,"I simply believe that those of us who have benefited most from this new economy can best afford to shoulder the obligation of ensuring every American child has a chance for that same success." From Benjamin Shapiro © 2008

When did it become ok to take excessively from those that have worked hard to succeed and give it all in the form of taxes to the lazy, deadbeat and entitled? That's not American! This is precisely the reason why Ronald Reagan got into politics. I'm so glad he did. Let me have the opportunity to contribute to those in need and I will do whatever I can. Mandate that I must pay nearly half of my income to the government in taxes and I'm going to hold onto every penny that I can! It's called capitalism. We should remember how well it works! Giving all of your money over to the government to have them spend it in areas of the country where you don't live and on people that you don't know or care to support, well that's called Socialism and Marxism. Thank you FDR for bringing these beliefs and philosophies to our country when you were president! His policies effectively kept our country in a depression 10 years longer than most westernized countries of the world in the 20-30's. Obama and his Chicago, radical, liberal henchmen want to take us back in time 80 years. Let's keep this from happening!

A Little Monkey on my Back (Belly)!

It's a lot of fun having Austin around. We take him with us wherever we go. He likes the back pack and the Bjorn a lot.

We started Austin on some rice cereal last week. He seems to be doing just fine with it. We'll probably start some other baby foods in a few weeks. He has fun licking the bowl.

Happy Boys

Well, as you can see from the photo, I upgraded to a new TV. It's been over 10 years since I bought a TV that was bigger than a 19 inch, so I decided to treat myself to a little Olympics on a big screen HDTV. It's so awesome! Got the PS3 for the Blue-Ray player and maybe, just maybe, a computer game in the future. You know "they say" that playing video games may increase intelligence. I wonder what baseline they were starting from though? No slam on all you gamers! One of the smartest guys I know (my Bro-inlaw) programs these games so maybe it's true?

Anyway, Austin ate rice cereal today for the first time. It tastes a bit like the old paste I ate in kindergarten. (Yes, I ate the paste! Who didn't?) He liked it. We're trying to get him to put on a little more weight. He's a bit on the small side but just as handsome as he can be!

Our new nanny started today. Her name is Jarah (like Sarah with a J). She is a fitness instructor and teaches a lot of fitness classes here on base. I think she is going to work out great. Her husband is a Marine officer who just deployed last week. This is their first deployment so pray for Greg and Jarah as they are separated by war. It's never easy being separated from your spouse.

Well, enough for now. Enjoy the pictures and have a great day! Eric

Austin is doing so good. He has learned how to spit and blow bubbles. He seems fascinated by this exercise in noise, spit and drool. It's so cute now but I guess sooner or later it will become slightly inappropriate. We went for his check up today. He is right on track. No major issues with this little guy. He's a light-weight but that's just fine. Not too big. Not too small. Just right! The breast feeding and cloth diapers are working out great. He is still exclusively breast fed with the exception for a few sips of dad's beer every now and then. We'll probably introduce some rice cereal or something in a month or so. No big hurry. The studies point to a lower incidence of allergies in children who start eating later. We'll see if that holds true.

I have decided to not continue on as a full-time ER doc at the hospital. I am working on a software idea I've had for a while and I plan on devoting the next several months to it. I'll keep you posted. I haven't ever been able to completely shake that entrepreneurial tendency.

Our new nanny starts next week. We interviewed several people and we think we found the right person for the job. Even though I'm not going to be working full time as a doctor for the next 12 months, I figured that I still needed help taking care of Austin. I'll be around to "supervise" though (i.e. get in the way).

Well, have a great day! Eric

Our Country Under Attack!

Our Country Under Attack!
I knew eventually I would go and get political on this blog. So here it goes.....When is our country going to step up and protect our borders and our citizens in the South? We need snipers, troops, armored vehicles and attack helicopters on our borders! The fact that Mexican soldiers are crossing our borders, firing on and holding our border agents at gun point is insanity! See the MSNBC video below and be prepared to get pissed off! We should invade Mexico, claim all the land 10 miles South of the Rio Grande, and set up a DMZ there. Then, we land mine everything in between there and the river! That would cut down on these illegal crossings! Am I wrong here? Does anyone else see this as virtually an act of war? I suggest everyone send their Senator, Congressman and the President a message stating your anger over this issue. Here are some links to make it easy. Eric

P.S. I must admit, I did still have tacos tonight ! I do love Mexican food, Tequila and that little talking Chihuahua at Taco Bell.
